Zebras are fascinating animals known for their striking black-and-white striped coats, which are unique to each individual, much like fingerprints in humans. These social animals are native to Africa and primarily live in herds, which helps protect them from predators. The purpose of their stripes is still debated, but theories suggest it could be for camouflage, temperature regulation, or deterring biting insects.
Zebras are closely related to horses and donkeys, though they have never been truly domesticated. They are herbivores, mainly grazing on grass, but they'll also eat leaves and twigs if necessary. The three main species are the Plains Zebra, Mountain Zebra, and Grevy's Zebra, each adapted to different African habitats.
